Busby Pt. 6

Now as you are aware I have not broke Busbys systems since going live with the project, I was thinking it was all flowing well and they had got "used" to me now, so end of all problems...

Then came the Xmas shutdown period, and I came back to work tried to log into the Busby firewall with me Actividentity card, and eye scan, DNA tests, etc only to get told "Account Disabled"? Moi? Account Disabled, do they not know who I am?

So i drop an email to my contacts there asking wtf? and after my main technical contact tried everything he was capable off he admitted defeat and passed the problem up the food chain to the Sys.Admin. Which was nice of him... Then 30 minutes later I get an email from said Admin, along the lines of!

"We do not deal with user account problems, please go phone the normal customer helpline."

Use the normal helpline, that the average mortal off the street would use? Do they not know who I am? We'll see about that.

A further 30 minutes later and i get a phone call from the sys.admin who sent me the email.

"Hi, yes Our Boss was in a meeting earlier, and just popped in, err it seems we are authorised to help you with your problem, and err she asked could we do it as a priority, so ignore my earlier email, I'll get it all sorted for you"

Harmony has returned to the Universe, Moi? The CodeNinje a mear mortal? I dont think so.. ;o)

The Animals Have Gone Mad

A strange thing happened to me on the way into the office this morning....

Almost sounds like the start of a cheesy joke.

But. Seriously. Driving into work this morning I got into a game of chicken with a Magpie, and almost lost. (

Driving along the welsh countryside, slowly making my way to the office, and I came across some birds in the middle of the road. Now the site of a car zooming along towards them, did what it always does and the birds scattered. Apart from

ONE

! this one just turned to face the car, and stared at me...

So as the distance got shorter and shorter I kept expecting the bird to flee. but it just stood staring at me. Then Woosh, The car went over the bird, And I looked in the rear view mirror to see if it escaped, and there it was, standing in the same place, it shook the exhaust fumes off its body as it turned to keep staring at me.

Was very strange.

Welsh Weather

Just finished training in chester where its hot and dry, jump into the car to drive home, and as soon as i got to the "welcome to wales" sign.. Torrential Rain!!

The Weekend - AKA The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly

I not posted for a while, so Figure I'll post some kind of update while waiting for a phone call/email/contact of some form....

So weekend just gone : -

The Good
Well went out sat night, had a nice meal in a place where the staff were dressed up as pirates, so got to eat good food, talk random shite with friends, while enjoying the view od some of the waitresses in sexy pirate outfits...

The Bad
Alas I was injured during saturday mornings training session, (The annoying thing was I almost did not go, due to having to take my car for service, and a feeling of cant be arsedness). Anyway, we were doing some ground work, and in a kind of freespar session at the end my neck got bent forward past its point of normal movement and there was a cracking kinda noise.. And now I have a bad case of whiplash going on. :0(

The Ugly
After hearing a crack in my neck (Not a noise you want to hear) I took a few seconds before moving to check I had feeling in my extremities, and could move everything, Then moved off the mat to double check I was fine, before getting back into the ring as it were. Then at the end the Instructor gave a huge rant, bollocking about people stopping mid spar, and how its crap, and must not be done, you should keep fighting.. and so on.. Personally I believe if you receive an injury that could be serious, the sensible thing to do is check yourself out before continuing to fight and make it worse..

Well back to work for a bit...

Well today is planetpete's last day in the office. So far we have spent most the morning moving furniture around the building, but are yet to discover where he has dug his escape tunnel...

I have a theory he is being a pesky tricky ninja, and we'll never find his tunnel, as he'll go all ninjaesq and walk out the front door as we all try and find his escape route.

Well I think the company will miss him, as the git has packed up most the fun and insanity and is taking it with him. So the place will be a less enjoyable building.

Ok, truth be known. We'll miss Jeff the Wonder Dog!!

But in a rare moment of seriousness..

planetpete has left, to move on to new challenges. so the company has gone into panic mode, and has decided to restructure itself, well in fairness its been trying to restructure for a while now, since we lost our support staff due to stress, so it should be interesting to see how the company evolves.

Had to deice my car 1st thing this morning... Drove through thick fog with almost zero visibility to get to the office, and now its so hot and sunny we have the fire escape open.....

Well I watched a weird film last night, "Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter" I suppose the name should have said it all really!..

Also its classified as a "Kung-Fu Action / Comedy / Horror / Musical about the second coming"

But It turned out to be so Bad, it was good. :0)

Well any movie to have a kung-Fu fighting Christ, Punk Priests, Vampires, Mad scientists, Masked Mexican Wrestlers, Lesbians, Musical numbers and such has to be good...

It brought back memories of uni days and getting very drunk on a sat night, then back to beasts place to watch the troma films sky tended to show at ungodly hours of the morning..

Anyway.. Its worth a watch if you ever see a copy somewhere...
